Welcome To
OhioSteelheader.com
With Guide Dick
Keagy

My name
is Dick Keagy. I fish and guide the Lake Erie feeder streams for
Steelhead trout. I am a life long resident of North
East Ohio. I have
all of the equipment you will need. You may fly or spin
fish or do both. First time steelheaders or fly fishers
are welcome. Casting instruction is included if
necessary. All flies and baits are included in the
price. I also bring a streamside lunch and
beverages. I am a full time guide who has fished the
area streams for over 30 years.
I
base my trips from North East Ohio where it is just a
short drive to the action each day. Our streams vary
from large to small. My knowledge of these streams
will assure you that you are fishing the best possible
water on the day of your trip. Ohio stocks the Manistee
strain of steelhead. They are noted for their
exceptional size and fight. They will average 24 inches
in length.
I
start guiding October 1st and continue thru until May
1st weather permitting. I am a retired Tool and
Die Maker who worked for General Motors. I am a full time guide.
I am available to guide seven days a week. You
will use top quality equipment and all you need to bring
are waders and a fishing license. I always bring
my own rods but if you want to use your own rod.
Bring it along and I'll rig it up for Steelhead Fishing.
Who
wants to fish in a crowd. Let alone pay to fish in a
crowd. I specialize in finding out of the way places
that are not crowded. I prefer to fish the less crowded
weekdays but I am available seven days a week thru our
season. Our streams get muddy very
quickly. I know many small feeder streams as a
option if we get high water. I will not waste your time
fishing when the streams are blown out. If we must
cancel due to weather your $50 deposit will be refunded. We are the only guides
confident enough to offer "you catch fish or you fish
free" policy on our guide trips.
Our
fish are excellent quarry for the fly fisher. We
use 6 and 7weight rods. The fish respond to flies
or bait well. I will bring both fly and spin gear
if you would like. During the spring months you
may get to sight fish. I have developed many
unique effective patterns for taking steelhead in our
streams.

Spin fishing methods also work well in our streams.
During the winter months many of my guests prefer to use
spinning gear as it is less prone to freezing. We target
big Ohio Manistee strain fish in the deeper holes. I
will the best bait available on my spin fishing trips.
Fresh eggs, local emerald shinners, and perfectly cured
single salmon eggs can mean the difference between
success and failure.
I decided to join the group of guides at
SteelheadSchool.com I am
now a Team Member Guide with Don Mathews and the rest of
the guys at steelheadschool. It made sense to network with these guys. I saw
them on the stream everyday anyhow. Sometimes its a
small world when your a steelhead guide. So far this
team concept is working out
very well. The guys at steelheadschool are the best of
the best when it comes to Ohio Steelhead Fishing..!!
I know there are a lot of
new guides cashing in on the Ohio Steelhead Fishery.
I hope you decide to fish with an"old pro". Choose
me as your Steelhead Alley guide and let my years of
experience work for you.!!
You may now call our central booking number
at 330-565-5457or myself directly at 330-646-8150 to
reserve your fishing date.
